@ all morons who think skinny lizzy or metallica wrote this song.... This is a traditional irish folk song that was created 200 years.
It was first recoded in the 1950's by various artists.
This song became famous when the Irish folk band "The Dubliners" recorded this song on three different albums and preformed it internationally as their signature song in the 1960's.
Thin Lizzy didn't make their horrible cover untill the late 1970's. Metallica made their version in 1998.
