My first visit to the Avon Valley Railway would be to the 'End of Season Gala' which was now being ran as a two day event, the gala featured the return of 'Black 5' number 45379 returning to its original home in preservation, the gala also featured of guest pannier tank 1369 from the South Devon Railway and 'Jessie' from the Llangollen Railway.
However a problem occurred during the day which was of a points failure at Bitton South Ground Frame however after a couple of hours the gala resumed and sees engines running passenger and goods trains between Avon Riverside & Oldland Common
The full loco line up was:-

| Hunslet 0-6-0ST 18" 48150 class number 1873 'Jessie'
