@jmahrky i totally agree on that one:)
-
Demetieva looks so hot here.
-
i miss davenport's amazing groundstrokes and dementieva's pathetic serves:) hehehe!

See there is where your theory completely shatters, a great ball striker does not need to have perfect rhythm all the time or much rhythm, that's what makes them ball strikers, their clean ball striking ability overcomes off days and lack of rhythm. Something which as talented and a great player Kvitova does not possess. I've been watching tennis since 1989, and following the game since '87.
-
@luirot9 I watch a lot of tennis okay? Do you watch any? To be a great ball striker you need rhythm and Kvitova is lacking that right now.
-
What makes you so knowledgeable? Are you a USTA coach? Tennis coach? 5.0 or higher level player? I never said I was an expert, I was simply stating a known fact, Davenport is a pure ball striker, ask any follower of the game and they will not disagree. By the way if Kvitova were such a great ball striker why is she not doing so well during the US olympus series?
-
@luirot9 agreed
-
Okay we obviously use different tennis dictionaries, my definition of ball striker is a player that strikes a clean ball time and time again from all parts of the court. Examples, Agassi, Nalbandian, Safin (but he's a shot maker as well), Davenport and Seles however Seles is a peculiar ball striker.
-
@luirot9 Then what would you define as a "ball striker"? And I think I know a little bit more on the subject.
-
REALLY GREAT HIGHLIGHTS
-
Whats that question about? Hitting with ease does not make you a ball striker. Roger is the modern player that probably hits with the most ease, but does that make him a ball striker? Don't think so, he like Kvitova, Henin and the likes who are able to generate amazing racket head speed are shot makers. By the way yes I watch and play tennis and probably for much longer than you have.
-
@luirot9 I'm sorry but do you watch tennis? Kvitova hits the ball with such ease...she was hitting winners against Maria unintentionally.
-
@luirot9 Furthermore, in my opinion Kvitova is more of shot maker than a natural ball striker.
-
@awesomekidddo I did watch Highlights or her match against Sharapova and watched most of her quarterfinal match at Wimby. She's superbly talented and has a phenomenal serve, and great groundies, and her net game is very promising. I love her commitment of coming into the net as well. Nonetheless, she's not that a natural ball striker like Lindsay, even this match in 2005 isn't quite Davenport at her best ball striking display. Perhaps you have not watched Davenport at her best.
-
@luirot9 Clearly you haven't seen Kvitova play lately.
-
Better ball striker than Davenport? Not in 20 years. She's a great player, with amazing talent, but no where near the ball striker that Davenport is.
-
@luirot9 Kvitova is better.
-
I know Davenport is the purest striker of the ball men or women of the modern game. Safin and Nalbandian come a distant second, and of course Agassi could see and hit the ball earlier.
-
lindsay hadn't got enough spin in a strokes to really punish dementievas weak serve.
-
@iloveakeys01 Maria, Venus and Lindsay, on average all hit harder than Serena. And all of them hit harder than Dementieva, except maybe Serena.
-
@dorker1992 i miss them too lol, damn...it was a matter of time before she retired for good ;-(
OMG i miss Davenport's Popping strokes
