It's time for a grand start to another LP and, boy oh boy, have I got a doozy for you this time, folks. Featuring a story that makes about as much sense as pickles on pizza and more potential for money-grubbing than even Mario is known for, Claymates' eccentricities are rivaled only by the sheer amount of mental agony you will endure during the later overworld puzzles. The platforming of the game is good, mindless fun, but completists beware: You're in for a devil of a hard time. Shoot, the devil himself might even have a difficult time trying to snatch up everything in this game.

And don't forget the infamous "blaze processing" the box artwork claimed. A response to Sega's "blast processing," perhaps? Both are equal overstatements, but when I was a kid, what did I care! "Blaze" and "Blast" were both sweet words that involved lasers, explosions, and burnination!

So grab your favorite colors of Playdoh, form them into your favorite treat (hamburgers were always a favorite of mine as a child... huh, so that explains the brain damage) and chow down as we take a trip down memory lane.

  • i rented this game, one of best weekends

  • @RevelationWarriors Brings back good memories for me too, even though its controls certainly don't hold up as well as I'd like them to.

  • TROGDORRRRR

  • Burninating the countryside! Burninating the peasants!

  • I'd never even heard of this game. Is it as good as Interplay's other titles, Fallout and Earthworm Jim?

  • It's definitely nothing like either (though it shares the platforming sensibilities of the latter) but it's a far cry better than Interplay's Clayfighter games. Was even made by the same developer, oddly enough, though clearly they were better at making platformers rather than fighters.

It's not an amazing platformer, but Claymates is definitely fun and unique with some very tough overworld puzzles later on and, overall, some well-made platforming levels.

I've always wondered. What happens if you go into the area with all the circus tents?

  • Watch it in High Quality. No sync issues are present when you watch it that way. Just add &fmt=18 to the end of the URL for this video.

  • Is there a problem with this site now? The audio is seriously out of sync all of a sudden. It never was before.

  • i remember this game, could never beat world 2 for some reason. also gotta say the intro left me in stitches, keep up the good work
