First time using iMovie in my life! Just want to make a short clip of how a rigshot (rolling shot) is done!

  • I just started shooting some with my rig. I like the wire system you used to steady the pole. Would you mind elaborating a little on that? I think I have it but not sure about the center piece that the wire stretches over or through. Thank you! VERY nice work by the way!

  • @MSCSphoto I can pan as good as other professionals out there, motion rig is one method most professional use to create motion blur at a relative low cost.

  • @MSCSphoto Also radical blur will not allow you to show the brake calipers

  • @MSCSphoto you still can't create curve motion with those methods you mention

  • @MSCSphoto How can you pan curved motion? How can you create curved motion blur in photoshop without using a software call "virtual rig"?

  • @MSCSphoto Well I don't care there are just multiple ways of doin' it and mine would be to use the rig... since I retouch a rig in 3 minutes and the blur would look rather fake. Do it the way you like it, I don't really give a damn...

  • @SirOpusculum 4 ) why not then just set up a tripod and shoot your car still and add the motion blur in Photoshop?? and radial blur to the wheels ( would take about the same time as what you did 5) want easy rolling shoots.......... sit in the back seat behind the driver of a different car. bot drive at 50mph side by side .. there is no panning.. and you get killer blur ........ Shit I do these While I drive.....

  • @SirOpusculum that is a BS excuse... you know there was a type of photography before Photoshop right? 1) if you cant pan with the car well... use the function on the camera that takes multiple photos this is why we have camera that take 6 frames per second.. 2) the time you spent editing that one photo building he rig etc... you could have spent shooting . 3) rig shoots I will give you the OK for when you are doing a photo in a tight turn style .. but straight ??? that is fail!

  • @MSCSphoto pan shooting needs a huge amount of luck and you maybe never get it perfect. to use a rig is much easier and more effective

  • why not just learn to pan shoot it..... and then you don't have to remove the rig in post
