I still picture David as a horseman.

Another thing what if Fritz didn't get pissed and withdraw from the NWA, we could have seen some cool crossover feuds... Von Erichs vs the Russians, Von Erichs vs the Horsemen...

David was promised the belt for 1984, Fritz had already gave the $25,000.... But when he died before he could held the belt, it pretty much no secret the NWA asked Fritz which other son he wanted to hold the belt and it was Kerry he choose... Which with Kerry's problems in and out of the ring that why he didn't hold the belt that long... What if David would hadn't passed and what if David would have held the belt..... Wrestling would been much different..

Except for 5 months, Ric Flair was the NWA World's Heavyweight Champion in 1983. Sadly, this would be one of David Von Erich's last matches. They were going to make him Champion and I feel that he would have made a good champion. Ditto later for Magnum T.A.

@goldenmoviepalace ... st.louis promoter sam munchnick wouldn't allow the missouri state title out of that area, the physical title belt always remained n st. louis ...

Watch Flair call for the Irish Whip and sleeperhold @3:28

Flair's first World title defense after regaining the belt at Starrcade '83 from Harley Race was against David Von Erich than the NWA Missouri State Champion In St. Louis. Did David ever bring the Missouri State title with him to Texas? I'm not sure I have ever seen this match? I have seen a great match they had in Will Rogers Coliseum the year before. Highly memorable as Flair used the Indian Death lock in that bout.

I can't help but laugh at at the Tuesday morning bookers here speculating on woulda, coulda and shoulda.
BTW, has ANYONE, EVER mentioned the fact that TV announcer Bill Mercer is one helluva of an announcer?!! He kept the descriptions of the ring action spot on! Always! The man had skins on the wall, Radio Football Announcer for the Dallas Cowboys, NCAA Football announcer on radio, various reporting duties on local newscasts, and oh yeah a Professor at The University of North Texas, which back then was known as North Texas State University.
A good one if there ever was one!
