SIXTY fire-fighters battled for hours to tackle a blaze which destroyed an historic Scots hotel early today (fri).
Huge flames engulfed The Star and Garter Hotel in Linlithgow as crews from both Lothian and Borders and Central Scotland fire brigades worked together for more than three hours to try and extinguish it.
Rescuers said four guests and two staff members were in the hotel when the fire broke out shortly before 7am yesterday (Fri), but all escaped uninjured. None needed medical treatment.
