"it is not capitalism to blame, it is this distortion of it to blame."

With capitalism, distortions will always follow. Excesses and bubbles will continue to occur. People will continue to falsely believe they are wealthy, then lost it all in the blink of an eye.

Yes, capitalism is to blame.

the #1 cause of the housing bubble was the fed having the rate too low and for too long. the centrally planned interest rate, from the central bank of the us. a central bank is the 5th plank of the communist manifesto. it is NOT a component of free market capitalism. it is not capitalism to blame, it is this distortion of it to blame.

I live in California and have seen what Arnold has done over his term. It costs me over four hundred dolars a year to register a 1995 ford 150 pick up. And he increased the car tax agin this budget if he can ever get it passed. WHERE IS THE END TO THIS MADNESS. When I think of the FACT that his father was in the German SS it makes me cringe at night to think what this countyr has come to.

The borrowers are at fault, not the lenders. The borrowers took the risk and have to accept the consequences, just like any investment.

Schweizer135:

Is there a chance that you just might be employed by the mortgage lending or servicing industry. After all, your comment is so entirely void of logic and distant from reality, I can't imagine any other reason why one would make such totally absurd and moronic statement. I'd be willing to bet that you'd actually admit voting for Bush, and you just think he's the best thing since sliced bread. You likely believe he's also honest & kind. The Truth is: HE'S A FRAUD, and so are YOU!

The "Fed" is an unconstitutional, illegal monopoly on the creation of money. Our constitution specifically states that only Congress can create money, only in gold coin. What has happened since the Fed has been running things is that wealth has been cleverly stolen from the working man and woman and funneled into the pockets of rich bankers. They run the show, not politicians! Google Video: Money as Debt - Fiat Empire - Monopoly Men - The Money Masters - Freedom to Fascism - Zeitgeist.
