Honda Insight LX 2010, hyper-miling 68 MPG, video 2

On the evening of Aug 21, 2011 I took a drive after filling up the tank to demonstrate "hyper-miling" on my Honda Insight LX 2010 hybrid vehicle. This demonstrates the power of optimal driving combined with a hybrid electric drive train. I was able to achieve near 70 MPG over a sustained drive around north metro Buffalo, in the Niagara region here in NY. This is the second video, going through the small town of Newfane, southward on NY-78 toward Lockport away from Lake Ontario.

In order to hypermile, I performed the following tasks:

*Turned off all A/C functions, which was easy given it was a cool rainy day in this example
*Accelerated very slowly, and made sure I stopped equally as slowly to give the batteries maximum recharge and keep fuel usage at a low
*Monitored my driving, using the Insight tools in the LCD screen to ensure that I didn't hit the gas pedal too much during continuous driving
