Looking for a new way to serve pumpkin this Thanksgiving and holiday season? Heres a recipe that turns a cheesecake into an instant holiday favourite.
Ingredients:
4 6-ounce packages of cream cheese (room temperature)
2 cups sugar
1 15-ounce can of pumpkin
5 large eggs
3 tbl all purpose flour
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp ground ginger
1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
1/2 tsp ground allspice
1/4 tsp salt
2 tbl vanilla
Method:
Preheat oven 350ºF.
Place cream cheese and sugar into large bowl. Using an electric mixer blend until light and fluffy, approximately 2 minutes. Add pumpkin and blend. Add eggs one at a time beating at a low speed. Add flour, spice and salt and mix just until blended. Add vanilla.
Pour into prepared cooled crust (gingersnap or graham cracker crust recipes available on legourmet.tv)
Bake until filling is just set in centre and edges have begun to crack, approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes.
Remove from oven and cool for 1 hour. Run knife around the sides to release crust.
Chill in refrigerator overnight, uncovered and in the pan.

@iwuverzyou I'm so sorry that you missed the nutmeg that we put in during the video, and in the written recipe found in the more info section below the video.
WTF is right! We should have been much more careful in highlighting this ingredient that is so important to you! Maybe we should change the written recipe and put nutmeg in Bold Capitals? Would this help you?

@tangela58 I'm so very sorry that you couldn't find the full written recipe in the info section directly below the video.
See the little arrow pointing dow where it says 'Show More'? if you click that a little box opens and all the ingredients and directions are listed.
Beyond that the full recipe could also be found on our website, clearly labeled in the video: legourmet.tv
I'm so sorry for your confusion - perhaps now that you can find the recipe you'll enjoy this wonderful cheesecake!

@TheSilverLining80 We were using whole eggs, and not separating out the yolks, so there is no need to break into a bowl first.
If you fear getting shell into the mixture, or are terrified of the slim chance of a blood spot, by all means break into a bowl first.

I'm wondering why you didn't break the eggs into a bowl first, then add them to the mixture?
