June 2008's video diary "Chironomidology" highlights the type of stillwater trout fishing available in British Columbia between May and June.

Chris Gadsden and Nick Basok demonstrate how intense the fishing can be when chironomid hatching is strong in this episode.

  • Rod,

This is another nice film, what kind of camera due you shoot with?

    Tight lines and clean lenses!

    Bob

  • This particular video was shot with a Sony HDR-HC3.

  • Wow! and I thought that the Bluefish I'm catch at the sea are crazy jumpers... :)

  • This particular sub-species of rainbow trout is known for its acrobatic display. They also jump naturally when in the lake due to an external natural parasite that they have.

  • That's the type of action I get on the Skokomish from SEP to the end of NOV! I'm jealous of the fact your rivers don't seem to have the pressure ours do. I'd love to fly fish the Skok, but if I did, I'd probably get shot! lol!!

    5 stars

  • We are definitely quite spoiled in British Columbia. There are definitely popular rivers and lakes that are crowded with anglers but with a bit of exploring, secluded and productive spots are not hard to come by.
