The focus is on a specific group of New Age women in Ojai, California who construct a new sweat lodge and perform their own ceremony. We meet each of these women as they prepare themselves for the ceremony, and hear about the reasons why they have chosen this path. We also meet and hear the various points of view of Native Americans. Some Native American groups report "declarations of war against the New Age." They believe their sacred ceremonial rituals should not be shared with outsiders, while others are open to "sincere non-native seekers of truth."

Ceremony is not intended to be made public. Regardless of your circle's opinions, you also have to respect the first nations protocol.Otherwise you enter into an area of abuse towards the native cultures. This is not always clear for non-natives. in the other hand. Thank you for having this discussion! I know plenty of groups that do not have the integrity to even talk about it.

nothing non natural belongs in a sweat lodge. no eye glasses, lighters, RECORDING EQUIPMENT! at least that is what i learned from those who taught me.
