  • This one is rather beautiful I think...check out the buildings in the snow, really nicely drawn and atmospheric. You do not need computer animation for a nice toon but you do need artists with imagination and ability.

  • reminds me of jam sarnies and tea after school, great times no worries no bills no day to day grind, good old days

  • Strange wistful melancholy in the beginning. So beautiful. It was alright for children to see emotions in stories in those days...

  • ivor the engine 2011 version, the end would have been All the goods are a mile back down the line . when they got there some chavs have nicked them lol

  • This program is fantasic, wonderful, I love Ivor the Engine!

  • Happy memories of the last childrens show on BBC1 just before the news at 5.45...loved those little 5 or 10 minute programmes like Ivor, Capt Pugwash, Willo etc...happy carefree memories...wish I was 7 again...not 40!

  • funny isn't it now we get a bit of snow and the railways come to a halt. the golden age of steam.

  • Through sentimental story telling and atmospheric illustrations, Postgate and Firmin succeded in giving their lovely little loco a real heartfelt personaility and more than a little humanity. Oh, the good old days.....

Baconsandwich - no, it's not just you.

  • I loved this so much as a little-un! Just the theme tune takes me right back to the days. Thank you!
