It is a sleepy little town which usually awakens during the summer season from July up to the month of September where the annual Sand Sculpture Festival is being held. Better known as Vancouver's summer vacation getaway, it has a long lake with Echo island in the midst, giving an illusion, of it, being small. If you love fishing, boating, seadoing, kayaking, canoeing, or simply a nice stroll in the early morning and or late evening summer, you will surely love the place. Fresh air, a daily jogging, biking, hiking along the long water front will pave the way for a nice work-out and a relaxing moment. Dining can be a little costly, but you can get away with it by having a barbecue picnic by the beach under the willow tree.
