  • I served with 4th (HU) Bn R.A.R. after Independence in 1980 (previuosly we had been the Selous Scouts Regiment) until 1st October 1980 when we changed our short service and time to 1st Zimbabwe Parachute Battalion as it is in 2011. I was proud to have been a part of the Rhodesian African Rifles as had my uncle Major D.E. Marchant years before. An unequalled tradition in both war and peace for such a fine body of men, I salute them.

  • let down by the brits again...they were there when we needed them.....a great tradation lost

  • I was lucky to have had the book "Blue Watch" by Gwyn Fford Osbourn, for Christmas. Superb reading and eyeopening to the times and happenings. Highly recommended.

    Not all fiction....!

  • Black and white side by side fighting for a just cause!

  • I often wonder about these fine men, how are they, are they well in mind, body and spirit? Be blessed, where ever you may be........ Gone, not forgotten, we salute you.

  • That's quality drill.

  • the trape is a bit knackered

  • God Bless Rhodesia. God Bless Ian Douglas Smith and the RAR. Ndicha tengera Sweet Banana.....

  • A damn fine regiment the RAR. The more I see of this stuff on Youtube, the more I realise what an absolute tragedy Zimbabwe is - and what Rhodesia could have become if it had been backed to the hilt instead of being naively (and wrongly) lumped in with South Africa.

Another total fcuk up in the history of the British Labour party. I despise them for everything they've achieved: nothing but the destruction of something that was special and unique.

  • my dad was in the band
