  • :P

  • does anyone know the name of the song?

  • I love Didem!

  • I really enjoy watching belly dancing more when I see the distinction between the countries. That's the beauty of it for me when the culture is rich in the dance...otherwise it becomes a blur. Morroco has their style, turkish has their style ,egypt etc...now so many dancers are mixing it up and it's hard to tell which country they come from. This is only my opinion. I love everyone but when everyone does fusion the dance begins to look boring for me. I think Didem is wonderful.

  • @artofdance99 continuation: Sure, Dina's work is good too, but that doesn't mean we should just downgrade something just because of those rules. Is it bellydancing? does it look good? good technique? Feeling? If those are ok, the rules are just an extra plus for being able to blend it in. NOT something to downgrade by.

I do think she didn't really go with the fluidness of the music much. Her choreography needs more 'softness' it was too 'harsh, blunt'.

  • @artofdance99 for the record: she was just a regular girl doing her thing, and got on stage like that. no professional training or anything near that. so obviously she doesn't know this stuff, she JUST DANCES. THAT is what dance is about. No honoring people or rules or anything. Just entertaining and expressing things. If everybody moves according to (too much) rules then the originality and creativity will get lost. which kind of ruins the art of dance.

  • @Frenchkisssss Yes but belly dance comes from different countries and there are different styles because of this. The Egyptian music is very complicated due to the multi layers of instruments..violins,kanoun etc . There are certain ways a dancer should move to certain sections of music like malfouf ... saidi ,taksim etc.And although didem is wonderful ,she just doesn't honor this.If you have a prolem with this explanation then take it on with Mahmoud Reda.

  • @artofdance99 But bellydancing is typical arabdance ...
