The Mid Hants Railway Autumn Steam Gala 29/10/11 Part 2

Over weekend of 28th to 30th October the Mid Hants or Watercress Line helds it Autumn Steam Gala which looked to be a great weekend for all steam enthusiasts with 9 locos in action 4 of which were visiting, 3 them were main line Pacifics.
The first loco to be confirmed was 70000 Britannia still carrying unlined black livery making first appearance at the line since the early 90s, standing in for unavailable 60007 Sir Nigel Gresley was sister loco 60019 Bittern making a return visit to its former base from Southall the loco was making its first run on the MHR as 4492 Dominion of New Zealand, the other Pacific was A1 60163 Tornado making return to the Watercress Line and finally the 4th visiting loco was Great Central based N2 1744 which was making first visit to the MHR, the 4 visiting locos gave gala a bit of Kings Cross feel.
Supporting the visiting loco were the lines homefleet were Lord Nelson Class 850 Lord Nelson, Black 5 45379, 9F 92212, West Country 34007 Wadebridge and newly restored U Class 31806.
The Gala was very busy with Passenger, Local, Demonstration Freight and Engineers train.
This was my first visit to the Watercress Line and was well worth the 5 o'clock start and travelling the 130 miles or so. I would like to thank everyone at the Watercress Line for organising a great gala.
