Designed for tree care professionals, this instructional program provides a 5-step approach to training young landscape trees. This program has proven helpful for the homeowner trying to figure out how to prune a tree and contains general information about wildland fire in California and defines three general choices for how communities can cope with wildland fire problems. Produced by Joan Wright, UC Cooperative Extension Specialist, Human and Community Development, UC Davis. Series: "University of California Division of Agriculture and Natural Resources" [3/2001] [Science] [Agriculture] [Show ID: 5598]
This is a good material for students to appreciate the existence of trees and to know how to take care of them. Interesting!

Profesional and comprehensive video lecture. It's a shame that one can find this practice only in few countries, especially in the Netherlands. In Israel they just prune, not train trees, therefore we have poor quality street trees. I hope I can change it in the coming years. Most of the people that are responsible for tree care are not professional at al, actually didn't learn anything about trees.

Hello,
I found this video very informative. Thank you. I have a question. Can older trees be retrained? I realize that they would probably endure a lot of pruning, but is it possible to change the form of the tree when the tree is allready grown? My parents black poplar tree that has not been maintained well. I hope to hear from you soon... Renee

Kind of weird. How do these chaps know more than the tree.
I'm speaking for trees who cannot speak for themselves
But then my trees are pretty smart.
