$1000per month on Costa Rica ??? I don't spend that much in the US. Isn't Costa Rica supposed to be cheaper place to live ?

I loved the video but it said so LITTLE!... and you're right... I am also considering moving somewhere in Central America for the quality of life vs money ($1300+/mth - basically that is what IT IS). It is obvious I need to make a move if I want to be able to "survive.", so I am reading and learning all I can. And yes, I am planning on going there in person to check it out but in the mean time, I would love to know the basics: can one person have a roof, eat, meet basic needs for this money?

how about the total cost of living there? Not just food costs. I live in Floriduh and don't eat 1,000 dollars a month in food now,so I can only assume total costs were included. I don't want to pay gringo pricing either. I need a small 2 room place with a toilet and shower and small kitchen. Nothing special, so how much again? Thanks.

I dont see the point of moving somewhere where you see things as "us and them". I just feel its disrespectful, and you should prolly stay home.
If you move to a country you should love it and be ready to accept it as apart of you. it become We and not them.
People will never accept you if you look at them as outsiders when you are the one trying to get in.
