Just hours after the short speech he gave in Washington D.C. about his legal long-form birth certificate, President Barack Obama returned to Chicago for the second time in two weeks to tape one of the final Oprah Shows.
This was the first time, while filming his motorcades, that I saw the 2009 armored Presidential Cadillacs. There, seated in the second limousine on a Blackberry™, was the leader of the free world with much on his mind, in the auto following the decoy car. In the last vehicle are soldiers with visible firearms. The President was whisked to New York City from our city then back to the Capitol, all within a 24-hour day.
This motorcade proceeded on Madison Street, where years ago my father witnessed President Harry Truman's procession and where my mother took my brother and I to see President Lyndon B. Johnson's arrival at a Chicago Stadium rally.
