  • ya see..paul speaks well of john...but whenever john did interviews and pauls name came up he would put him down..knock him knock his music..meanwhile what the fuck was john doing..most of his solo shit sucked...if you were around i9n the 70's you know johns albums were not big sellers and he albums got shitty reviews....thats the truth..once he died then the myths kicked in...

but john always bashed paul and i did not like that..paul could have said johns albums sucked but he didnt..

  • Thanks for this interview. It's really nice to hear from Paul McCartney in this time period.

  • @ChiroQuacker Compared to Paul's songwriting,John was an ordinary composer.Paul is a genius and John knew that better that anyone. And he was envy by his socks of that.

Hey Jude,Here There and Everywhere,For No-One,Yesterday,All My Loving-John has always said he can't write powerful songs like that. And here speaking only about The Beatles, you know.Ços after the break-up,John's stuff was light years in the dark, compared with Paul's power material!

  • @changing3 John and Yoko were both to blame for John and Yoko. That's nice that they loved each other. But think of how hurt Cynthia was when she found them naked together. And think of Julian's hurt too.

  • Good, bad or indifferent, John chose Yoko and he loved her so when you blame her you're knocking him. He had free will and he chose her.

  • @ChiroQuacker True, but it's really only a more obvious shortcoming. John also said good things about Paul but they weren't so polite sounding. They each have their own way of communicating. In all the stuff with John talking about Paul, I never got the feeling that their wasn't love there, only bravado which is insecurity in a sense. I grew up with the Beatles and the more I hear and read, the more I see Paul as extremely confident and very secure and John as much less self confident.

  • @ChiroQuacker I agree that SOME of his solo songs weren't very good, but I blame Yoko for that, and John for letting her take control of his music. I do, however, agree with the fact that John never had anything good to say about someone who was supposed to be his best friend! Paul did say nice things about John even though they had some difficulties in their relationship. John was pure musical genius, and so was Paul, but John could be very arrogant and that I don't like. I like John though.

  • I still love this guy. Great to see something "new" from back then.

  • Thanks for posting this.

    I haven`t seen it for 32 years

  • Awesome !!! Great to see this !! Peace/Love

  • This was the very first Southbank Show. I remember it well. That's why images of Paul were always featured in the programme's into artwork.
