Well, I don't know about skill, but nothing beats just laying low for a while waiting for your opponents to attack.
After a series of matches, the opponents started off matches not moving. This was a signal that there weren't in front of the Wii (Thus doing something else while waiting for the match to start)
Honoring fair play, I (and any others) would wait for said players until they return. But what happened in the first match was pretty much "Ah screw this map" after while from what I can tell.
Second match both players weren't moving! But it didn't take long to get things started. Hope to do something like this more often heh heh.
Note: The second match actually came first, but it's better this way.

Is "Heh heh" your catchphrase, or what?

It's more like a habit I guess. In fact, I actually do say that in real life a lot. So many people just resort to the "LOL".
