Romans 13 talks about rulers or governments "praising the good", but what does this entail? Is this a biblical support for government welfare? If it is, where do we draw the line? How much socialism is biblical?
@pantheon777 - A proven fact? By what evidence do you have? If wealth redistribution is better for everybody then tell me where in history this has been seen? From what I have seen it has never done anyone good except the one who gets to take it.
@pantheon777 the means not the ends is the problem. And no the rich cannot steal from the poor except through the government which is an entity of pure force.
It's a proven fact that wealth redistribution is better for everybody, including those from whom the money was taken. And it leads to less materialism, and the excesses that go with it (greed, envy, objects as status symbols, etc.) In this society, if I ask for fair wages and fair costs, I don't have a job and I don't get to eat. The rich become the rich BECAUSE they steal from the poor. The difference is, they don't go to jail for it -legalized stealing.
