@327Katy Wax paper would work for this fine, but I wouldn't go trying to substitute wax paper for parchment paper all the time. Despite what margerite1 would have you believe parchment paper is not the same as wax paper. Parchment paper has a coating of silicone while wax paper has a coating of - you guessed it - wax. So if you used wax paper for baking it would melt and make a mess, but for this it's good enough.

@HikariHime29 Depends on what you're doing. If you're trying to make flowers or do a much better decoration than your average cookie decorating, it's rather difficult with a ziplock bag due to the elasticity of its plastic.
