Nice clawhammer style but do you flick a string on the upstroke?

I go: dum-(gap)-chung-a, dum-(gap)-chung-a with the right hand. The 'a' is the high G string plucked with the thumb. Everything else (extra notes in the 'gap') would be hammer on or pulled with the left hand.
