@akay4747 The French wear their emotions on their sleeves and indeed it makes for a more entertaining atmosphere. But there's a limit and it's hard to justify on the occasion that the crowd breaches it, especially when the athlete isn't even showing frustration. The Australian and Wimbledon crowd understand this and for the most part restrain themselves from behaving obnoxiously. They get involved in the matches, but not to the point where they set out to abuse the athlete.

@94jrhm It's not the same, that's all, FO ends the long clay season and winning it is very prestigious as well, being the most challenging GS ( clay + 3 sets winning ), and Wimb is prestigious cause it's the oldest and grass is a disappearing surface, so winning it makes you unique. I'm french and i like England just as much, you just gotta be smart and see for yourself why France is also a nice country ( not just the smelly Paris ... ). Visiting London in a few weeks. Wish I'd seen Wim final !

Sounds like the French open would be the most interesting to watch, but to watch tennis is one of the most boring things you can do.

Haha. It is SO typical of French commenters to be saying "The F.O. is better than Wimbledon". The French hate it when anything English is better/more coveted/prestigous than a French equivalent.
Wimbledon is THE Championship that players want to win. It is literally the temple of tennis.

I will say, as much as i think the French Crowd will never love Rafa like they do Roger, they were much better this year than in years past.

French are hard they don't give credit easily and at least it's less boring that Wimbledon or the Australian Open (the US Crowd is actually quite cool)

even the players said the crowd just knows their tennis, and they don't seem to perturbed by it in this vid, so why does it matter to you so much?
