A Toot and a Snore in '74 is a rare bootleg album of the one and only jam session in which John Lennon and Paul McCartney played together after the break-up of the Beatles. They were joined by Stevie Wonder, Harry Nilsson, Jesse Ed Davis, May Pang, Bobby Keys and producer Ed Freeman for an impromptu jam session. What followed was not very productive. Lennon sounds to be on cocaine—he can be heard offering Wonder a snort on the first track, and on the fifth, asks someone to give him a snort. This is also the origin of the album name, where John Lennon clearly asks: "You wanna snort, Steve? A toot? It's goin' round."

  • @TullioWalker On how many of these videos did you make an ass out of yourself? This is definitely from 1974 and this is definitely a jam that included McCartney and Lennon. Why would you foolishly perpetuate misinformation regarding this recording when you're clearly clueless of the truth?

  • @TullioWalker Well it's clearly John's voice, so what else could it be? Tape's quality is actually quite good.

  • Are you serious, you've seen AAD or ADD on CD's, they came from audio tapes! This is the best equipment available on the best quality tape available. Listen to the remastered CD's. Technology then, with technology now, it's possible.

  • Sorry, man. I don't believe this is true. That story was taken as fake by many people. Sound quality here is very good to be true in 1974. Recordings were made in tape not digital in 1974. Tape doesn't have large frequencies range as digital.

  • Fuckin bass player is so gone......

  • John complaining about the levels, when it was really his headphones, ruined the rest of the album. too bad.

  • 12 part harmony to "stand by me" drugs or no, JWL funny!

  • Thanks for this bit of history.
