Furling jib (rullfock)

This video shows how my furling jib works To unfurl it, I pull either of the jibsheets. That causes the drum at the lower end to spin, rolling up the furling line as the sail rolls out. To furl the jib, I pull the furling line, which spins the drum in the opposite direction, causing the sail to furl back up. Usually you only see this on big fancy boats but it's extremely handy when sailing any boat single-handed. Plastimo makes a more affordable furling system than the better known brand Furlex.
