  • Ellefson rules, people who say pick limit's you are wrong imo, yeah for funk or somet maybe, but not metal. And Ellefsons bass is one of the nicest tones I think. picks and fingers are good, neither are better or worse than one another.

  • this is all about the sound you want to achieve! you want a warm, deep tone? use your fingers! high gain sound? use the pick. how hard is that to understand?

  • @ToaJoe UUHH, STEVE HARRIS WOULD ARGUE THAT. MY BASS PLAYER PLAYS WITH A PICK AND I THINK IT LOSES SOMETHING FOR SURE.

  • Sorry, but people who say fingerstyle makes you a better bass player is fucktarded. Fingerstyle allows you to string skip with ease, something you can't do with a pick. Also, training yourself to play as fast as you can with a pick is easy as fuck, people just don't try hard enough. At the end of the day, both of them have their advantages, but fingerstyle is overall easier for most of the genres.

  • Ellefson is great, Jimmy DeGrasso is good also, but well, that song was first played on drums by Nick Menza, so i would pick the original.

  • @maidenslayer besides, he uses both anyway lol

  • i dont like compareing cliff with megadeth members because they were all really good. now the other metallica members suck and are douche bags. i like comparing them because all of megadeths members crush metallicas members( besides cliff hes even with megadeth)

  • As a matter of fact, Ellefson is originally a finger player, though he had to take the pick because he wanted that tone, and megadeths quite tough to play with fingers.

You can see pictures of early Megadeth and Ellefson playing a BC Rich Mockingbird with fingers.

  • @jedgabriel you´re right!!!!!

  • the pick has a taanngg sound fingers has duuummm

  • I play with my fingers, but picks are nice to!

Who cares about this fingers/pick thing anyway.. im after the sound, nothing else

  • F*ck, this is a Masterpiece!!..
