The Voice is of a Talk Radio Host At WABC, I Think he is Still There, but IDK, his Name is Micheal Jackson, Obviously Not MJ.

Yeah, this is a great book, I picked it out but then returned it so i could get The Greatest Show on Earth. I still have tons to learn.
To understand a fraction of the observable Universe, is beyond any Human emotion describable.

The reader sounds vaguely like Noel Coward

@gordongate "pedantic use of modern terminology" Yes I do. I have to. In science terminology matters. Other than in "metaphorical language", where you can just mouth away, especially when it's centuries old. If you just use word whatever way *you* want to, no wonder you can make them say whatever you want to.

@TomFynn Yet again you resort to insults, why dont you go read about a little thing proposed by Schopenhaur called the progress of truth, it fits you to tee.
So can i presume that you still havent looked up the Gunas due to your cowardly sheltering behind a pedantic use of modern terminology. Just because we can use a scientific language to describe things based on our modern belief centuries later rather than a metaphorical language doesnt condemn an eastern culture's understanding.

@gordongate Am I to understand that there are people choosing their field of science because of some ancient fairy-tales mentioning strings? The sound you are going to hear soon? That is the sound of my facepalm.

@MaxJNorman Yes I know, tunneling microscopes are another new develoipment which was based on the actual reproduction of a previous theoretical premise. Once QM ideas are demonstrated repeatedly and consistantly, its no longer theoretical. I don't doubt that most of the more colourful concepts will be proven at some point, but my arguement was regarding the standards applied to the veracity of scientific research outside of QM which should be the same for QM before reaching consensual acceptance

@gordongate Are you seriously suggesting because ancient fairy tales mentioned "strings" they knew about quantumchromodynamics? It is precisely this level of delusion, wishful thinking and self-fulfilling prophecy that I find laughable to the highest degree. You are like the people who think that Nostradamus predicted WWII.
-
@TomFynn ActuallyI know a lot more than your dissmissive assumption and self importance dares allow you to think. At the very least, i'm not throwing insults which is the last arguemental resort of the threatened ego.
That quote was originally from a final year astrophysics student I met from Leeds University back in 2002 after I was interested in why he chose that particular branch of science as opposed to the more trendier pure theoretical physics.

@TomFynn Dont put words into mouth, particulary when you criticise on the basis of who's has the superior fairy tale with a very arrogant and superior attitude yourself sir.
Try reading up on something called the Gunas, which are said to be the three strings of essential nature which in combination make up the property of all matter, then read up on the nature of quarks, then criticise the parallel through knowledge not vicarious opinion.
@Cisser 13.7 billion years condensed to 3 hours? Yeah, I'd say it's pretty brief.
