I also feel like it's too easy to trick your mind into creating what you might "think" your guide looks like, or what he/she would say to you. But at the same time it's all about trust and listening, like it said your answers might not come immediately. If I did meet my guide her name is Azra and she appeared as a very motherly comforting figure, blondish toned hair and told me to keep expanding my mind.

So strange! I saw the Virgin Mary and all I did was fall to the ground and cry into her robes as she just strokes the top of my head. I did this meditation about a year ago and it was the Virgin Mary who appeared as well.

Thought I saw my guide...not sure at all. Feel like I'm just tryicking myself :/ but if it really was my guide. His name was Jake, handsome, very. He in a white flow like shirt. He was a brunette. He told me about my school :p and how I needed to get my act together.
