@AirsoftManJohn Most bolt action sniper rifles have a free floated barrel and yes it increases accuracy! But it helps nothing with recoil!

@xxxScoutSniperxxx Free floating barrels are used only for accuracy porpoises( the less the barrel touches the more consistent the shots). However, the real M82, M107 etc has a recoiling barrel and a straight stock design similar to a M16 which reduces recoil.

It's called a free-floating barrel. And yes, it GREATLY decreases recoil in terms of real firearms, especially one that generates so much like the real Barrett M82A1, A2, or the M107.

i thought a free floating barrel was that the barrel was only atached to the reciever and nothig else to improve accuracy over a period of time
