  • This one didn't do no Classic leveling (however I like the classic leveling on Otis and Dover). I'll show what the elevator is doing on impact cam hopefully before Thursday. I hope that Schindler get the problem solved because my wife was too scared to get on this elevator last time.

  • Sometimes, ingrounds tend to jolt a little, resulting in banging shaft noises. The cap on the piston might have to be replaced, which is where you are smelling the oil. I do admit, sometimes, Schindlers like all other elevators tend to have faulty leveling, but it's nothing terrible. Also, the moving while the doors are open is reffered to as "classic leveling". It's just a fancy way for an elevator to level, and is very common on Otis and very rare on Schindler.

  • Positive. If they have another elevator in the store it would be a freight elevator. But this is the only passenger elevator in the store.

  • you sure they don't have the original elevator and this?

  • Sears has been here for over 30 years. They just started putting an elevator in the store in 1995.

  • The leveling be off, plus the elevator moves when the doors open while the leveling be off, the banging noise and the elevator smells like hydraulic oil. I'll do a impact cam view tomorrow to show you.

  • I don't get it. What's so bad about this elevator. It looks so innocent!

  • looks like it was manufactured by Filechia Elevator Company sold under the Schindler name...
