When one person suffers from a delusion, it's called insanity. When many suffer from a delusion, it's called religion...

The more time that is spent talking about things like Gay marriage, the less time we talk about things that are really important, like ending world hunger, nuclear disarmament. Its almost like they are using religion as a means to distract us from the real ways we could make the world a better place for EVERYONE

"So you cannot show pride in your effort"

Sure, you can show pride in _your_ effort, in _your_ achievements. With achievements of your family, it already gets thin ice, because they are not your achievements. Maybe if you are a parent and did a good job raising, you can take pride in some of the things your offspring does, but even that should no go overboard.

Taking pride in your country allthough is utterly unjustified, and, as I stated before, instrinsically dangerous.

So you cannot show pride in your effort, family or effort? Also, your swing in 150 year old history is also irrelevant too.

Hey, I am a son of immigrants. Both of my parents were poor farmers before they came to the United States.

Either way, just because we show pride in our country does not mean that we are "extremely right wing". Your are also defending your country so you must be "extremely right wing". Most Americans are not ass like you.
