  • hi, could you please tell me what all did you put in with the lentils?

I believe it was lentils (toor dal ?) porridge?

  • @heterodyned - I would suggest that you start off with the Shan Haleem mix. It has all the lentils.

  • Dear Sfehmi, if I use chicken, how long do I need to cook with slow cooker? thanks

  • @babytanuwidjaja -4 to 5 hours should do for chicken. The main reason for that long is that you want the whole dish to cook slowly and allow the juices from chicken and the dal mix, to mix well.

  • Is there anyway we can bypass the slow cooker as I don't have one.

  • Yes - you can cook it in a pressure cooker. Check out my curry videos that will give you a good idea as to how long.

Soon I plan to do a video that will use pressure cooker to cook Daal Ghost which will be very similar to this dish. Stay tuned.

    Thanks

  • no offense, but the accent you put on really distracts from the recipe at hand... why not just be yourself? nobody will judge you. No one judges french people for having french accent. nice recipe but in the old days it was cooked on slow heat in an earthen pot overnight... so no need for a pressure cooker really. but it's safest to use a slow cooker in modern times

  • thanks will try it soon! soo easy!
