When it was running, I loved it, as I had all the family plus luggage in there,

it was very compact and you did not get stuck all the time like the vehicles of those days.

However, in the winter, it was like driving on wet ice because

of the rear engine...You where out of control half the time!!!

I'm surprised Volkswagen have not been sued to death

over all the people that this idiotic design have killed!

Or you lose control as the front wheels pivot is right over the wheels' turning axis, needing a damper

that wear out every month...rainwater leak over the electrical, plunging you in the dark

at the worst time on the highway...front dick brakes wear out after only 10,000 miles...

I was in the garage for major fixes every damn months! But then, which other car will let you

drive from Miami to northern Canada without brakes(disks worn out!) using the

very effective parking brakes!!!

This is the worst car ever built...I had the squareback, which is even bigger inside.

First, you have to use the gazoline heater or you freeze to death, but then you

burn more gaz than an overloaded Cadillac. This car use a Porche engine, great,

but the cooling fan is waaay too small, which make the engine overheat...same with the oil cooler, which freeze in the winter...which make the engine overheat! Then the steering have to be overhauled every 2000 miles...
