@lockpickman they changed that a few years in, and since it is a fluid-coupled 4x4 it was safe to shift on the fly as well

and u have to come to a complete stop before u switch

i had a '83 sx4.. unreliable as hell, but fun to drive when it worked. took it to the beach; the narrow stock tyres just didnt have enough traction bc i got stuck on the soft sand immediately when i got there. when i finally got out of the whole i "dug", the engine over heated ;) i never tried it again.

Awesome little car.. I had an 88 Jeep Cherokee 2-door with an AMC 4WD system underneath and that son' ofa bitch was unstoppable.. They knew how to make off-roaders..
