  • Okay so here's the thing....Toby starts out in a straightjacket at the beginning of the show and you don't really know why. But then at the end of the show Toby kills Sweeney Todd, then is playing with the razors, then a cast member comes up and puts him in a straightjacket. So you don't make the connection till the end.

  • The Toby in the beginning was nice in my opinion. It wasn't impressive singing in a sense that he had an amazing voice or power, but instead impressive acting during the singing. He really seems disturbed and miserable after going through that, which fit nicely.

I dunno if that was the intention, but that's how it came out. I wanna hug Toby now...

  • The flute thing is kind of annoying. D:

  • @AlatarVinyamar I LOOOVE that concept! Great!

  • @AlatarVinyamar Agreed.

  • @TheWizardofodd12 Different people have the Ballad of sweeney todd done differently. the more traditional way is to have the survivors of the story begin it (the survivors include the extras) others prefer the actual characters to do it while the ones who like to capture the mystery and the pure insanity like to open with Toby in an insane asylum recalling the events

  • @AlatarVinyamar WOW...that's a very interesting idea. I like it.

  • I love the timbre of Sweeney's -- er, your -- voice. It's evocative of telling ghost stories; the air of horror theatre combined with the sense of a real, human connection. You know... the "Let me tell you something that *really happened* to me..." tone. In fact, it's the perfect voice for that kind of horror story where at the end, you realise that the killer in the story is now the very person telling it to you. I can't imagine how great it would be in the intimacy of a small theatre!

  • yea it was good. my all suburban choir did this for our concert and it was amazing!

  • very impressive and oohhh so cool!!! Where do I get the rights/materials to the show?

  • hes suppose to be insane ahaha
