Before the Andrews Sisters, before the Boswell Sisters, one of the first sister recording acts were the Brox Sisters.

Virtually unknown today, the Brox Sisters were the premiere sister singing group of the 1920s. They starred on Broadway in the Ziegfeld Follies and the Music Box Revue shows.

  • this is awesome! Another number they did around the same time thats neat is "School House Blues" (Brunswick 2268 also with Kruger's band) Later they recorded for Victor but the numbers were often slow ballads and not jazzy like this. All 4 of these girls lived to a very ripe old age , three of them into the 1990s. So sad they are forgotten now.

  • These girls had such tight harmony, better even than the Andrews sisters.

  • Irving Berlin said the sisters were a favorite of his & he wrote songs for his shows that featured the sisters

  • Cutest thing,I always loved them.
