@electroforez I'm used to an 8 step sequencer so 16 steps would be quite good. The different overlays of sounds to the 16 steps opens up the possibilities. My 8 step sequencer has something similar in the form of 8 layers of RPS (Realtime Phrase Sampling). It's the visual element that attracts me most. Seeing where the 16 steps end is good for planting other sounds from other devices & vocals.
Thanks for your view on the Tenori-On. It looks & sounds a tempting buy. Currently £209 NEW.

@funkb0x
I bought mine to have an easy and intuitive sequencer (in particular for chords, here it works great !)
The thing you must know about this machine is that the sequencer can't chain two patterns, so you only have 16 steps. If you want to chain 32 steps for example, you must change the pattern all the time you're on the 16th step.
That's for me the main limitation.
Besides, it's a really nice machine, and the Orange version is cheap contrary to the first (metal) version.
