How the Body Works The Lymphatic System

The lymphatic system, a network of vessels which carries lymph from around the tissues to the blood, has valves which prevent backflow. Lymph is formed when high arterial pressure forces fluid out of the capillaries and into the tissue spaces. From there it is taken up into the lymphatic vessels. The lymph carries harmful substances from the tissues to the lymph nodes, for removal, before the lymph is returned to the blood at the veins in the neck. In the lymph nodes there are large numbers of white blood cells which produce antibodies and ingest any foreign material.

  • @OregonHerbalist huh? electrically? they have valves and one contributor to blood pressure is the high pressure of muscle contractions and heart pumping action

  • @OregonHerbalist swollen glands can be trapped proteins if the lymphatic system is backed up and sluggish >>reason lymphatic massage, lymph & whole body detoxes are beneficial

  • @stevenesmond2 You're both right. Especially with logical thinking.

  • @upcycle Interesting theory but it is unfortunately wrong : ( The swollen glands are caused by an increase in the production of lymphocytes and phagocytes which then collect in the lymph nodes across the body to combat an infect - not actually the bad particle but the good ones the cause the infection.

  • @BeccaxYates Trapped blood proteins.

  • @nanotech71 Dr. C. Samuel West: International Academy of Lymphology. Buy the book. The course is overpriced. I paid $500 and get no help.

  • @1091Floyd21 @1091Floyd21 The function of the three types of blood protein help to transport minerals and glucose to feed the cells. The clean blood proteins returns to the heart via lymph system.

  • Nonsense! Hi pressure pushes blood out of the blood vessels? The blood vessels have holes that open and close electrically.

  • Thanks for posting video.

Interesting correlation that the lymph does final deposit in the neck and tonsillitis.. and high levels of throat and neck inflammations during bout with flus and colds..

Perhaps as the neck is where backup of harmful materials collect and may wash back into blood if the lymph is not able to handle the volume of flow... just like a sewage or rain water backup during a rain storm that overwhelms those systems or has blockages or impairments..

  • thank you so much
