nope, you just heat up the area where you want to put a hole with a finer flame and presurize the piece. If you keep that flame directly on the same spot, it just pops open. You can ream it open or use the flame to close it down if its diameter is off.
Decent video, Where does that guy blow glass out of? I'd like some shots about that piece he made with the fish inside the can of the bub.
