Gaza crisis- These are our people, This is our world

Today i cried. I cried and I cried.


i was catching up with the muslimgirls lj (eljay) community, and i stumbled upon something that hit me hard. (Would like to take bit of space to thank all of those wonderfully compassionate girls on their, who took the time to talk about this issue, and who let me borrow their icons)Something that made me question the world that i live in. I'd been sitting back with my family, slightly annoyed with petty things like my cousins hogging my laptop, but looking forward to the new year, whilst people were losing everything. they were dying. And i had no idea.

So I cried and I started writing, I cry- generally-i write

i looked at the poem I had and thought about what i could do with it. A few days prior to this one i'd done a lot of thinking about doing whatever you an to help when you see something that you know is wrng going on.
So this is my way of helping.

TALK:
Talk to someone you know. Talk someone you don't know. just grab another human being and talk to them. Ask them what they think of The Gaza crisis if they don't know about it, tell them about it. talk about what you could do. Maybe you want to do some fundraising, maybe you could do a presentation at work, or at school. Just do something.




PRAY:

Last but not least... pray!
As the saying goes; 'The shortest distance between a problem and a solution is the distance between your knees and the floor', so bow down before your creator, and pray to him, ask him to help your brothers and sister, pray that he eases their suffering. Pray that a solution is found, and not only that it is found but that it is carried out. I'm not great at coming up with ideas, but I'm sure you are, come up with your own ideas of how to help.



Everyone can do something to help. So Why Don't you just do something to help everyone?

I was talking about the whole Gaza/Hamas/ Israel thing.

I know what you can do to help. Tell the people of Gaza to kindly ask Hamas to stop firing rockets at innocent civilians in Israel. The moment they stop these criminal acts of war, the war against Hamas will end. Don't fool yourself. The people of Gaza will never wake up one morning and decide that they suddenly want peace with Israel. The only way there will ever be peace is once they realize that Israel will not take attacks on its civilians lying down, and will retaliate with strength.

I want to make some things clear. I'm not against Isreal or Palestine. I'm against the actions taken that mean innocent people are dying. I really think that the leaders of the countries should be accountable for the lives of the people within that country in which they are leaders. Obviously this isn't something that has just started now, this has been an issue for centuries.

I think that peace will probably be realised when those in power recognise that no life is disposable, they have a duty as leaders to protect their civilians, and that to more than attacking other civilians means maintaining peace.
