a track taken from The Deluge (1986)

Across the seas of nevermore
There lies the ancient bloody shore
Where living dead still walk the land
Demon warriors of the damned

The fires burn blood red
Upon the Isle of the Dead

The mariners still tell the tale
Of the island gate to Hell
Where sinners of the seven seas
Live out the curse of blasphemy

The fires burn blood red
Upon the Isle of the Dead

Black gate to Nifleheim
The Bells of Hell still chime
Judgement beyond the grave
Condemns their souls to burn in flames

The fires burn blood red
Upon the Isle of the Dead

  • @sniperkneupper This singer's voice is uniqe in metal music.

Every part of this band kills. The guitars, bass, drums, and vocals.

I guess you would like them to have a singer that sounds excactly like every other singer in heavy metal?

My favourite bands in heavy/power metal are Manilla Road, Cirith Ungol, Pagan Altar, old Fates Warning etc.

You would hate them for their vocals. That's the reason I love them.

  • great song!!

  • Their vocalist sucks ass I don't care if he sounds "unique", that nasal tone makes me hate him and that idiot from Pagan Altar. Luckily, he doesn't sound too bad on this album as opposed to Crystal logic, this album is so easier to listen to when he tries to sound menacing.

  • @WolfgangVonPoserkila

Oh hai there fag, still loling @ you as you can see lol

  • @Thrasholocaust Oh hai there guy. Still mad at me I see lol

  • @WolfgangVonPoserkila

    Shut up fag

  • @sniperkneupper Mark Shelton was a fan of prog rock like Rush. He will have got his nasal approach from Geddy Lee and decided to on being a low toned, moody version of him.

It's an acquired taste but it works and its one of the reasons why Manilla Road have a great quirky quality to them that fans love. Far more memorable than a lot of Dio or Rob Halford imitators....

  • @sniperkneupper To me, his vocals are awesome but I can see why you don't like them.

  • @Sekkingstad well said my friend. i wholeheartedly agree.

  • @sniperkneupper either you like his voice or not, Mark Shelton is the soul of Manilla Road! Singer, guitarist, composer and lyricist(best lyricist in epic metal!!)

  • @sniperkneupper Ofcourse it's unique. Unique means that when you hear them, you can immediately identify them as Manilla Road. And by the way, I never said you hated this band. Perhaps YOU should start reading MY posts before replying?

But let's not start a fucking fight in a Manilla road song, please.

Just enjoy the music (well, except the vocals for you), and I will enjoy it too, in it's full.

  • @Sekkingstad Actually his voice is nasally and nerdy not unique. And I didn't say I hate them did I? You should read my post instead of just mouthing off. I like this band their singer is just a complete dork. I actually like power metal vocals but I like singers that don't sound like me when I was 11 years old singing while holding my nostrils shut.
