This is video that I made in April 2011 for one of the collaboration channels I contribute to http://youtube.com/user/ItsAMansWorldFTM1
Many people found it helpful, so I decided to upload it to my channel and share it here too.
Here are a couple of links to videos I made for the collaboration channel http://www.youtube.com/trannystargalactica

i think having true friends around that "tell it like it is" has its merits, unrealistic expectation and media pressure to be the body beautiful, we are all different, we make the best of what we have and hopefully learn to love ourselves. great Message my friend xx

Thank you for posting this video and for sharing. It really is an excellent video and wonderful to see it again. :)
A positive and healthy perspective on my own and other's bodies really helps me to appreciate, accept, and enjoy my body as it is. I find it very helpful to allow my own sexuality and sense of what is natural and comfortable to inform how I interact with my body in any given moment. Exploring my sexuality, my body and my feelings allows me to be a more sensitive and caring person.

Ahoy Valentino! This video really hit me, in a positive way though. I can't really offer any strategies for coming to terms with dysphoria as I am still working through my own. Something my counsellor brought up was for me to stop associating a gender to the different ways you can give or receive pleasure. It's a tough thing, but your video offers some sound ideas about how I can challenge the way I see my body. Thanks a million. Peace!

Amazing amazing video. I'm so glad to be part of a trans community that promotes healthy body image, and celebrates trans bodies without comparing them to cis bodies. Not many cis people have the perfect male or female body, either. And trans bodies are unique and special and perfect in their own ways.

The attitude that you have about your body is so wonderfully healthy!!! Even for people who are not trans, it is so important to not be comparing ourselves with anyone else. All of our bodies are so unique anyhow. The sooner we embrace it, the better. Hope you have a GREAT new year!!

@deaddogx Haven't been on youtube much lately, am mostly in bed trying to get out of it...
Stuff isn't working properly. Estrogen goes up, depression goes away. Physical changes start kicking in, hope grows and then it all collapses and I get very depressed. Scary, to be honest. Experts at the gender clinic don't know yet what to do but pray that I don't do stupid things...
Thanks for the positive wishes and hugs, it means a lot. Am not yet defeated but this cycling gets old real soon.

I live in New York State so we are pretty secular but there are still some douche nozzles out there that hate GLBTQ people just because they are anti-anything that isn't them. I think all GLBTQ people in this country should own guns, honestly. I know that sounds absolutely loony to you guys in Europe but who needs a gun more than a queer in small town America?

Interesting and important video I think. Unfortunately I'm far from contemplating that position, 2 weeks from my 1 year on hormones anniversary, the only result I have so far is that gender dysphoria has gone but every other result has been quickly reversed or is under thread right now (the ability to cry). Very depressing to see it come crashing down time and again and have this ever growing despair and body dysphoria.
Anyway, best wishes for 2012.

@NaomiClareNL It's good to hear from you! It's been ages! I'm sorry to hear that you're having a difficult time. Are the hormones not working properly? Or have you had trouble getting a regular supply? I do hope things improve for you in 2012. Sending you positive wishes and hugs xo

Thank you so much for this video! I especially connect with the part of not comparing my body to other bodies. I am just recently starting to see my whole body as sexy and not just the top half. I also hope that when I am given the opportunity, and dysphoria and fear creep in that I will be able to gently carry myself through that. Again, thank you.

@cljohns7509 You are so very welcome! It's great that we can share our experiences here. I just went to your channel and saw your wonderful 'trans enough' video! :)

@deaddogx Well thank you for saying so but I still have a problem with my voice even though I sing from time to time lol. I often wonder if my transition would have been easier in the UK or Europe. Do you think your transition would have been harder in small town america or is this a misconception on my part?
marly9 1 month ago
@marly9 I think it makes a huge difference to quality of life if you live in a country that has social healthcare, which many countries in Europe do have. I think living in a relatively secular country also helps. The ability to take cases to The European Court of Justice, is also a potential advantage for those who live in Europe. So yes, I think there are many contexts which can change the trans experience. However, there is still prejudice and discrimination.
