GUITAR TONE - VOX AC30C2 vs BUGERA BC30 212

Does the Bugera sound like the VOX? What do you think?

The Bugera BC30 212 was released to the public in early 2010. The amp looks like a Matchless DC30 model. In my opinion, channel 1 on the amp sounds very much like the classic VOX AC30.




The Bugera BC30 costs around $400 less than the VOX AC30. Both the VOX and the Bugera are 30 watt two channel tube amps. I believe if the Bugera had the same speakers as the VOX, it would probably sound 100% like a VOX.

For this demo I could not increase the Master Volume on both amps beyond 25% because it caused the camera mic to distort.

Sound was record by the mic on the video camera, placed approximately four feet away from the amps.

@motleydrue666 Actually the yellow pointy guitar is a Takamine GX-100. The guitar is from the 1984 era and is very similar to the Aria Pro II ZZ Deluxe. Differences are the Takamine is made of Mahogany and has a fixed neck (no bolt on).

@69Rodrigooo69 Check out my video of the Bugera vs Vox vs Orange vs Blackstar. Channel 2 on the Bugera is used for this with a Gibson Les Paul (classic 57 humbuckers).

@slimodom Yes, the Bugera tubes which are made in China.

Not sure but yes the Bugera has a more brittle sound to it BUT could it be the cameras mic wasn't centered between the two, thus putting the Bugera more in line over the VOX?

Over all I think if you put different 12AX7's in it you can rid the brittle sound.
