3 years on, Marlborough is still, as you coined it: The Napa Valley of NZ wines, given it is the biggest producing area for many styles. I live in NZ, so I can try them below NZ$20 on a new vintage. The 2008 Chardonnay is holding up well overall.
2010 is probably not your year if you don't like a hot vintage with generally high abv's, but great for aromatics like Rieslings though.
All? I've had a few which tasted like urine filtered through a dirty gym sock. I admit that I far prefer NZ to California, but there are a few out there which are made very poorly.

Did not like Nobilo either. I found it heavy and harsh as well.
