  • on Debian there are 3 ways to install a package

    1) dpkg -i yourprogram.deb

    or

    2) apt-get install yourprogram (this solves dependecies ---most windows installs don't have anything like this)

    or

    3) Open Synaptic click search, find your package, click the checkbox next to your program then click Apply and that's all. this also solves dependencies.

So it's even easier to install software on Debian! AND, none of the Debian packages contain malware unlike window$ installs.

    Debian RULZ!!! :)

  • Yeah, installing program in windows is easy. (especially antivirirus 2009)

  • There is also aptitude with text interface.

  • He is speaking extremely clear English. I'm an American, and I think he is speaking much clearer then most of the people I meet with my accent.

  • There are more ways. But essential everything uses dpkg.
