http://www.learnstocktradingsecrets.com - On Balance Volume attempts to measure the level of accumulation or distribution by comparing volume to price movements. Volume is added to the indicator if closing price moves up and subtracted if closing price moves down.

  • Nice simple explanation, I assume, when you refer to 3 days, you are talking about daily bars.

  • @SilverShamrock71 That is correct. The three daily bars on the chart, so non-trading days (weekends and holidays) would not count.

  • Con't... or would you look for the BO on dailys and then switch to a lower intraday timeframe to get a good entry?

  • Question: in your opinion can you read accumulation in volume, when price is about to break out of a channel on strong momentum INTRADAY? As opposed to on daily bars which are less noisy.
