A short set of video clips of calling male Pacific Chorus Frogs (Pseudacris regilla). These videos were taken in late February 2009 in ponds in Napa Co., California. Pacific Chorus Frogs (also called Pacific Tree Frogs) are one of the most abundant frogs on the west coast of North America. The males make their loud 'Kreeck-eck' call to attract female frogs.

  • I love these frogs. theyre also very hardy and can live anywhere with proper breeding areas. at Hoot Judkins furniture store in San Bruno the guy that works there often finds pacific tree frogs just outside! im guessing there's a pond or creek nearby

  • Interesting to note: this is the defacto frog for Hollywood, because it happens to live there. It is the only frog in the world that makes the true "ribbit" sound, and though it lives nowhere near these locations, it has been used in movies for frog noises in places such as the Vietnamese jungle and the Everglades.

  • cool frogs

  • cool.

  • I think that the Pacific Chorus Frogs are beautiful! On the East coast we have the Spring Peepers, and to sit down in front of a marsh and hear them perform, is an experience like no other.

    Thank you!!!

  • They are noisy, aren't they.
